Steps For Enrolment

STEP 1: Application for entry into Stonyhurst International School, Penang

Download and print out the Application Form. Complete this with all required documents listed in the form (passport-size photo, copies of passports or ICs, birth certificate, school reports and any SEN or medical reports).

Completed application forms can be scanned and emailed to admissions@stonyhurstpenang.edu.my or delivered by hand to the Admissions Office at Straits Quay.

You will get further instructions on payment of Application Fee (RM500 per child, non-refundable) once the documents are processed by the Admissions team.

STEP 2: Assessment

Stonyhurst International School, Penang is not selective. However, prospective students will still need to demonstrate the capacity and capability to benefit from our curriculum. Prospective students who are applying to enrol in the Senior School are required to provide evidence of prior academic attainment.

We will conduct an age-appropriate online entrance test and/or an interview in person or online (via Skype or Zoom) as part of the admissions process. The length of the online test varies depending on the age of your child. The admissions process may also involve a prospective student/family interview with the Principal or Assistant Principal.

STEP 3: Review

The application and outcome of assessment are reviewed by the Principal and Admissions Committee within five (5) working days.

STEP 4: Result

Parents are advised of the outcome of which there are three possibilities:
The Applicant is Successful: A place is secured at the school. The family will follow the next step – Confirmation of a place.
The Application is Pending: The application is successful but places are not available and the applicant’s name will be placed on a waiting list.
The Application is Unsuccessful: The family will be notified in good time, to allow for alternative arrangements for future schooling, to be made.

Please note:

  • Applications filed under Pending will be accepted as soon as a place becomes available.
  • The school reserves the right to make a conditional offer. The nature of the conditions and any consequences will be discussed and clearly stated in writing.

STEP 5: Confirmation of a place

Having been given an offer of a place, the family should sign and return the enclosed Acceptance Letter. The place is secured upon receipt of the Enrolment Fee and Security Deposit within the stipulated time (to be advised).
